THE STORY
I was driving from Neum to Durmitor. Somewhere after the Bosnian border post, just before the Montenegrin one, a double-peaked mountain appeared outside the window. It’s called Kosmaš, and there’s a viewpoint with the same name right there between the two checkpoints.
The light was everything a landscape photographer is told to avoid: midday sun, harsh shadows, a flat sky. I stopped anyway. Some places don’t wait for golden hour.
Back home, I opened the RAW in Lightroom Classic and set myself a task: make it look like the light I wanted to see, not the light I got. Below are the original and the final frame, and the full trip is on the channel.
LOCATION NOTES
The Kosmaš viewpoint sits on the road between the Bosnian and Montenegrin border crossings, on the way from Neum towards Durmitor. You can stop right by the road.
